Intentional Laughter

My brother and I slept on an enclosed back porch area that had no heat. Piles of quilts keep us warm on those cold Winter nights.
I had a brilliant idea as a 15 year old boy. I even sketched it onto paper and mailed it to Mechanic's Illustrated magazine as an "inventions wanted" idea.
...
Putting on cold jeans each morning needed to stop. My idea was an electric jeans warmer. It was shaped like a pair of jeans, at night you place the jeans inside, plug it in, and when morning arrived there was a pair of warm jeans to wear. Perfect invention! I look back now at how silly, but how funny, the idea was.😜😊😉
Can you relate to doing silly or funny things with your loved one? Can you recall times you laughed together, perhaps even to the point of tears?
Life consists of laughter and tears. It is very healthy to experience both emotions in life. It is good to look back over a relationship and remember times of laughter. Tears come easy after a loss...but it takes an intentional effort to recall times of laughter. Please try to do this occasionally. It can give balance to the grief journey.
Perhaps it will help to write down the funny or silly times you remember. Looking back over these moments, especially during difficult days, may soften the grief pain a little.
