Choose YOUR team
I recall it being an every Saturday morning ritual. Boys from across our small town would gather at the ballfield. The 2 "better" players were selected to be captains, then they took turns choosing their team from the eager boys around them. One player at a time...until every boy was on a team. Great memories from those days.
Have you chosen YOUR team? If you have suffered the loss of a loved one, it is very important to select those people who can form a... helpful team for you.
Choose someone who can provide PHYSICAL support to you. There may be errands to make, repairs needed, and you may need a "driver" for awhile. You will know those who can do these things for you. Choose them...ask them...it is OK.
Choose someone who can provide EMOTIONAL support to you. This is someone you can call at 2am because you need to talk. They do not need to give you answers, only understanding, support, and a presence of caring. You also know who can do this for you. Choose them...ask them...it is OK.
Choose someone who can provide SPIRITUAL support to you. This may be a minister or counselor. But it is someone in touch with God, someone who is positive and believes in prayer. You know who can do this for you. Choose them...Ask them...it is OK.
Do not hesitate to choose your team. Each person on your "team" can help you in this difficult journey. You are not alone...make sincere efforts to build your support team. I believe you will see the value.
