Grief changes the way we look at life

Grief changes a person! After a loved one dies, there are so many changes that take place it can be overwhelming.
Grief changes the way we look at life. Things that once were extremely important can go to the bottom of the priority list. Also, things that were never considered to be a priority will move to the top of the list.
...
Many say the death of a loved one will turn your world "upside down". I understand that feeling because it seems everything in life is moved around. But I suggest we try to look at grief a different way. Perhaps the death has turned the world "right side UP" for us.
Perhaps we now value time, relationships, and those little moments in time as the treasures they are.
Our peaceful world can change in a heartbeat through a phone call or a knock on the door. Normal can be destroyed and our energy is spent trying to make sense of everything happening around us.
During a time of grief we need family and friends. We need the support of those who will have patience with our ups and downs. We usually need guidance by those who understand that our world has been shattered.
Let's reach out to someone who is struggling in their grief journey. Maybe we can offer a listening ear and a caring heart. Our efforts can make a difference in a life.
