Covid-19

Because of these articles each morning I have heard from grievers around the world. I am humbled by the response, and determined even more to support grievers and attempt to soften the pain of loss. The pandemic of COVID-19  seems to have a different impact upon grievers. Here is a list of what I have heard, or things implied through the actions and attitudes of those who have suffered a loss:
  •  the worst has already happened to me.
  •  there are things we cannot control
  •  there are selfish and self-centered people everywhere
  •  no one can fix the pain
  •  nothing is surprising anymore
  •  what else can I lose? My heart is gone.
  •  everyone has an opinion
  •  I have already faced the unknowns in life.
  •  our only hope is in God

Do you have something to add to the list? How has your grief experience impacted the way you respond to the pandemic?
