BEING DIFFERENT ISN'T WRONG

Have you ever noticed all the different makes and models of cars on the road? Have you ever noticed all the different home designs and colors? Do you know why there are so many different sizes and colors of everything? Because we are different!
Here is a truth to live by...but it is very difficult for some people to understand.
"BEING DIFFERENT DOES NOT MEAN IT IS WRONG!!"
How does this apply to grief and loss?
Everyone, even in the same family, will grieve differently. Everyone has a right to express their grief and mourning in a way that is right for them. It does not have to fit into the pattern someone else has followed. There are no "cookie cutter grievers" where everyone is just alike.

Following a loss, some people are ready to talk about memories...some are not. Some people cry...some do not. Some attend grief classes...some do not. Some visit a cemetery often...some do not.
Remember, being different does not mean it is wrong. Let's find ways to support each other in our unique journeys of grief and mourning.
Actually, this is a very good statement to apply to many areas of life.
"BEING DIFFERENT DOES NOT MEAN IT IS WRONG".
