"A MOURNING MOMENT" by bob willis

People come into our lives for a REASON, a SEASON, or a LIFETIME. We have looked at REASON and SEASON people...today we consider the LIFETIME people.
LIFETIME people may be friends, classmates, neighbors, co-workers, family, or a spouse. There is a long history to be shared with a LIFETIME person. Even if you are seperated for a period of time, it feels very comfortable to speak on the heart level again when together.
...
LIFETIME people have been with you for support and celebrations during life events. They have endured the ups and downs in the life experience. It is quite common for LIFETIME people to share in births, marriages, and funerals.
LIFETIME people can be trusted to be present during trials and times of stress. Their presence can be a comfort, even when words are not adequate. These LIFETIME people will pick you up, dust you off, and hold your arm to steady you as a new life journey begins.
There may only be 1 true LIFETIME person in your life. Treasure them, do not take them for granted.
Actually, being a LIFETIME person can be both a privilege and an obligation.
It takes commitment and faithfulness over a period of time...perhaps enduring difficult life experiences together.
Do not expect everyone to be a LIFETIME person...some cannot commit to that position for a variety of reasons.
