Softening the Pain
The material I begin to share today is the "heart" of this grief series. It is a method to put words to the grief so they become MOURNING. Grief is on the inside...MOURNING is when it is expressed. We find comfort when we mourn...not when we grieve.
Imagine you had the opportunity to talk with your loved one again. Complete these sentences to share the thoughts and feelings that are important to you. Express everything that is on your heart to say with each sentence.
The responses will be different for every person. Please be honest...please be committed to this task. We will work on this material for 3 days.
You do NOT have to share your responses here on Facebook for everyone to read. They can be private. Write your responses to each of these statements as if you were talking to your loved one:
* "I want to thank you for....."
* "My fondest memory of you is....."
* "I want to apologize to you for....."
* "I forgive you for....."
